The Facts: Asked about his future with the Patriots, as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent, Blount said, "I don't know what the future holds. That's something for them and my agent to discuss. I love being here, and they know I love being here. ... I feel great. I'm 30 years old, not a lot of wear and tear on my body. I feel like I'll be able to play for as long as I want."
Diehards Line:
Blount enjoyed a career year in 2016, rushing for 1,161 yards and a team record 18 touchdowns. He wasn't a huge factor in the team's Super Bowl win. In fact, Blount's early struggles and costly fumble were far from ideal and a key part of the 21-3 halftime deficit, a deficit that kept James White and Dion Lewis busier in the second half. Still, it's safe to say Blount was a big part of the team's regular-season success. We'll be watching for more on his future with the club in coming weeks.
