The Facts: In predicting the Bears' biggest offseason move, ESPN.com's Jeff Dickerson advised readers to look for the Bears to either trade or release Cutler.
Diehards Line:Dickerson isn't going too far out on a limb here. The 33-year-old quarterback's days in Chicago are likely numbered after he played in just five games in 2016 (he hasn't played a full 16-game schedule since 2009). Cutler's contract isn't necessarily the issue -- his base salary is only $12.5 million in 2017 -- but the Bears open up $13 million worth of cap space if they get rid of him. Cutler led the Bears to one playoff berth in eight seasons. As Dickerson put it, "It's time for a fresh start."
