The Facts: HC Andy Reid said today that he's pessimistic about the chances of having Charles on the field on Sunday against the Chargers. "I think it's a stretch for him to play," Reid said.
Diehards Line:
For most of the offseason, there were indications that running back Jamaal Charles expected to be healthy enough to play Week 1. That’s no longer the case. Reid has been cautious throughout training camp with Charles, saying he doesn’t want to do anything that would set back his recovery from last year’s torn ACL. That caution now appears that it will extend to the regular season, and the Chiefs will go with Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware and Knile Davis on Sunday.
