The Facts: HC Hue Jackson told reporters Monday that he expects Gordon to return to practice "probably soon."
Diehards Line:
Gordon was conditionally reinstated by the NFL from a suspension of more than a year just before the start of camp, but he suffered a quad injury while training on his own this summer and landed on the team’s active/physically unable to perform list. Based on Jackson saying “probably soon,” PFT believes next week seems to be a safe guess. The Browns have two more practices this week before traveling to Green Bay for Friday night’s preseason opener. Jackson said at the start of camp the team expected Gordon to miss at least two weeks of practice. Gordon needs every practice and preseason snap he can get (espeically after Jackson suggested the wideout is a bit thick in the middle). He hasn’t played or practiced since Dec. 2014, and his suspension includes the first four games of the 2016 season. He can participate in camp and preseason games, but over his four-week suspension he can only participate in meetings.
