The Facts: Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Joe Callahan will get the start against the Colts in the Hall of Fame game with Rodgers and Brett Hundley each getting the night off.
Diehards Line:
Rodgers is healthy, but hasn’t shown much interest in playing a fifth preseason game and likely would have made only a cameo if he did see the field. He didn’t practice on Thursday as Callahan took the most first-team snaps and Hundley hasn’t practiced since hurting his ankle early this week, leaving the undrafted rookie from Wesley College in position to start. “First NFL snap, there’s definitely going to be some nerves but then there’s going to be a lot of excitement, too,” Callahan said. “I’m going to try and make sure I’m level-headed and calm so I’m not firing the ball all over the place. That’s one of the things: Don’t let my emotions get the best of me.” Marquise Williams, another undrafted rookie, is the other quarterback slated to see action for the Packers.
