The Facts: Fitzpatrick and Jets reach agreement on 1-year, $12 million, fully-guaranteed contract, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Diehards Line:
The news comes with the Jets set to hold their first training camp practice on Thursday. It's not a huge surprise. Fitzpatrick had arguably the best season for a quarterback in franchise history last year, hurling 31 touchdowns over 3,905 yards en route to 10 wins. As NFL.com suggested, last year was the perfect marriage of scheme, timing and talent as the Jets were a game away from reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2010. We'll follow up as more details come to light, but those intersted in Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and Matt Forte in PPR leagues can breathe a little easier.
