The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Word came late last week that the Philadelphia District Attorney's office was preparing to announce the results of their investigation of a sexual assault allegation leveled against Agholor and that result was expected to be no charges for Agholor. The announcement from District Attorney Seth Williams came on Monday and it was just what those reports said it would be. "The District Attorney's Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit and detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit thoroughly investigated the allegations of sexual assault against Nelson Agholor," Williams said in a statement. "As a result of this joint investigation, our staff and the Police reached the conclusion that we lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor, therefore no charges will be filed."
Diehards Line:A dancer at a strip club made the accusation against Agholor last month and the wideout’s attorney said at the time that he was confident that there would be no charges against his client. He could still possibly face a civil suit or a further investigation under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, although as PFT notes, neither would keep him from starting camp with the team on July 28.
