The Facts: Marshall could spend the next few weeks fretting about whether he'll have quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him passes again this season, but HC Todd Bowles gave him another task to focus on before setting the players free until training camp. In a video posted to Twitter, Marshall explained that Bowles asked him to get below 230 pounds for camp.
Diehards Line:
Marshall started this explanation by making a face familiar to anyone with a five-year-old that they’ve asked to eat something similar to the plate of grouper and blueberries that Marshall has in front of him. “This is the face you make when Todd Bowles says ‘I want you below 230 all season,'” Marshall said. “I haven’t been 230, well, I got down to 230 last year but for the past five years my average has been around 234, 235. But he said, ‘Brandon you were so fast in Miami. That’s what I want you at.'” As PFT notes, Marshall has been productive at all weights for most of the last decade, which would seem to make it unlikely that the Jets will raise much of a fuss if he reports to camp at 232 pounds.
