The Facts: This past offseason, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown -- Pro Bowlers, all three -- worked out together on a North Miami practice field. A handful of talented corners, including Minnesota's Xavier Rhodes, had the unenviable task of covering this dream team of receivers. And who was throwing them passes? Smith, the Jets' beleaguered quarterback.
Diehards Line:
As Profootballtalk.com pointed out, coupled with the unexpected reps he’s getting in Jets OTAs while Ryan Fitzpatrick’s contract impasse drags on, Smith’s getting plenty of work this offseason. He could use it, as his career has been uneven at best, and it’s unclear what the Jets will do with him when/if Fitzpatrick comes back. But it certainly appears Smith is doing his part.
