The Facts: Much of the talk around Winston this offseason is the work he's put in to be in better shape for his second NFL season, and as the Bucs opened a voluntary minicamp Tuesday, his teammates noticed. "He lost a lot of weight. He slimmed out," receiver Mike Evans said Tuesday.
Diehards Line:
Evans continued: "I was joking with him the other day. He took his shirt off, and I said 'Man, what happened to the belly?' He's got a six-pack like me. He's put in a tremendous amount of work and I think it's going to be a great year for him and this whole team." ESPN quoted his offseason trainer, Tim Grover, as saying that Winston has lost 18 pounds since the end of the season. Grover has worked with NBA superstars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. If nothing else, the notion that Winston realizes the need to take better care of his body to perform at this level is encouraging.
