The Facts: Ajayi is penciled in as a starter if the season started today. That is a big jump from last year. However, Ajayi will have a sizable role regardless of what happens later this month in the draft or free agency.
Diehards Line:
ESPN.com's James Walker went on to note that ideally, the Dolphins spend a high draft pick on a running back to pair with Ajayi and present a dual threat. Walker studied all of Ajayi’s 49 carries last season and found some pros and cons. But there is potential if Ajayi is able to make a solid jump in Year 2. That potential will be limited, however, if the back the team drafts early is Ezekiel Elliott. We'll be watching for more on that when the NFL Draft cranks up this coming Thursday night.
