The Facts: According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are releasing Daniels.
Diehards Line:
After signing Brock Osweiler to be their starter, and hanging onto Brandon Weeden to go with project Tom Savage, the Texans didn’t need Daniels, or Brian Hoyer, who they just released as well. The Texans signed Daniels off the Seahawks practice squad last December when they needed bodies, and now the need isn’t so critical. As PFT suggests, the Seahawks might want him back, but they haven’t signed veteran backup Tarvaris Jackson yet either, so they might not be in much of a hurry.
