The Facts: According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Texans have released Hoyer, source said. He's a free agent.
Diehards Line:
The move comes as no surprise after the addition of high-priced free agent Brock Osweiler and the re-signing of Brandon Weeden. The Texans start offseason conditioning tomorrow and were searching for a trade partner that never materialized. So they did right by Hoyer in releasing him now. Remember, the Jets have been eyeing Hoyer closely in case they can't reach an agreement with their own unsigned free agent, Ryan Fitzpatrick. We'll be watching for more.
