The Facts: The Cardinals will start their offseason workouts on Monday without a pair of running backs who have spent the last couple of years in the organization. The team announced Friday that they have released running backs Grice and Robert Hughes.
Diehards Line:Both players re-signed with the team in January after spending parts of last season on the practice squad. Grice was a sixth-round pick by the Chargers in 2014 and was signed off the practice squad by the Cardinals in September of that year. He ran 15 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in 10 games, but was cut last September. He returned to the practice squad later in the year after spending a month with the Lions. Hughes played in all 16 games for the Cardinals in 2014, running seven times for 11 yards and catching eight passes for 140 yards. He played six games for the Colts over the 2012 and 2013 seasons and has also spent time with the Bears, Buccaneers and Redskins. David Johnson, Chris Johnson, Andre Ellington, Kerwynn Williams and Stepfan Taylor all return in the backfield for Arizona.
