The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... Mason has entered a plea of not guilty after missing his arraignment on misdemeanor traffic and drug charges earlier this week.
Diehards Line:
Mason’s attorney, H.T. Smith, entered the plea on his behalf Thursday. A warrant for his arrest had been issued earlier this week, after the 22-year-old skipped his scheduled Monday morning appearance before a judge. Mason had been arrested March 5 in Hollywood, Fla., and is facing misdemeanor charges that include reckless driving, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana. A third-round pick in 2014, Mason ran for 207 yards and a touchdown last season behind breakout rookie star Todd Gurley. HC Jeff Fisher said last month he expected Mason to be present for the Rams’ offseason program, which begins Monday. “I know he’s extremely embarrassed as to the incident, but we don’t have the facts yet,” Fisher said. “We’re still waiting on that. To me, it was a little uncharacteristic of him and if in fact what was reported is true then I’ll be really disappointed.”
