The Facts: According to the league's daily transaction release, the team has waived Sorensen with a non-football injury designation.
Diehards Line:
Sorensen became the first player from Southern Utah to be drafted when San Diego took him in the seventh round of the 2013 draft and he’s spent parts of the last three seasons with the team. Sorensen, who also spent some time with the Titans in 2014, never appeared in any regular season games. The Chargers have Kellen Clemens and Bryn Renner on the depth chart behind Philip Rivers and may be comfortable with that arrangement heading into the season. They did meet with Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch recently, however, and having a 34-year-old starting quarterback may lead the Chargers to bolster the talent on hand in the draft later this month.
