The Facts: Hurns agrees with his quarterback: The Jacksonville Jaguars have the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. Two days after Blake Bortles said during an appearance on NFL Network that Hurns and Allen Robinson are the best combo in the league, Hurns said the same thing during an interview with ESPN. "We are the No. 1 duo in the league," Hurns said.
Diehards Line:
"You just look at what we've done this past season," Hurns added. "Even though guys like Brandon Marshall and [Eric] Decker did a tremendous job, [and] Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, but you look at it as far as we probably had like 50 less catches combined than all of those guys and our yardage is up there. As far as touchdowns, the same thing. ..." In fact, Hurns and Robinson did indeed generate more yards and touchdowns on fewer catches than nearly all the other tandems in the league last year and they're younger. They're the only tandem of players with at least 60 catches each that are entering their third seasons in the league. Hurns and Robinson combined to catch 144 passes for 2,431 yards and 24 touchdowns. That was the sixth-most receptions, but the third-most yards and the second-most touchdowns. Only Marshall/Decker (2,529) and Thomas/Sanders (2,439) had more yards and only Thomas/Sanders (26) had more touchdowns.
