The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced on Monday that McCoy will not face charges in connection with a bar fight in Philadelphia. In a statement, Williams said there was "insufficient evidence" to bring charges the case.
Diehards Line:As Profootballtalk.com noted earlier today, the mayor of Philadelphia and the president of the Fraternal Order of Police have both said they believe McCoy should be charged. A cell phone video of the incident has been published, although the fact no charges are being filed is a pretty good indication it’s not clear enough to tell precisely what happened. Remember: McCoy could still face discipline from the NFL under the personal conduct policy. There’s no word on when a decision on that front might be made (but the league is looking into it). Whatever the case, McCoy now knows he won’t run the risk of a criminal conviction in Philadelphia.
