The Facts: There was a lot of talk about Murray possibly returning to the Cowboys after last year's disappointing season in Philadelphia. HC Jason Garrett acknowledges the Cowboys discussed bringing back Murray, who set a team-record with a league-leading 1,845 yards rushing in 2014. "You are always looking at opportunities," Garrett said. "We have a lot of discussions about a lot of players on teams throughout the league. You are always looking to try to bring guys in who can help your football team. In some cases you are more familiar with guys than others because they have been with you. So you look at those opportunities and see if they are realistic. We do that with a lot of different guys."
Diehards Line:Murray fell out of favor in Philadelphia after rushing for just 702 yards, including just 3.6 yards per carry, last season. He was traded from Philadelphia to the Tennessee Titans on March 9. Garrett remains a big fan of Murray, despite his struggles in Philadelphia and believes he will have a bounce back year in Tennessee. "He was a really good player for us during his four years with the Cowboys,” Garrett said. "He is going to do a great job in Tennessee. He is going to fit in that system really well. ...” Murray might be a great fit, but he still won't benefit from the kind of offensive line play he enjoyed in Dallas.
