The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... ESPN reported on Wednesday, before the Browns signed Robert Griffin III, that the Jets have interest in McCown. Talks with free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick have failed to result in a deal that would bring him back to the Jets, and so McCown could be an option there. But that's not the only team interested.
Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio notes, the Broncos have also made clear that they’re not done acquiring quarterbacks after losing Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler and trading for Mark Sanchez. McCown would have a decent shot at beating out Sanchez in a quarterback competition. And the Rams are committed to Case Keenum as their starter at the beginning of OTAs, but that doesn’t mean McCown couldn’t come in and win a quarterback competition in Los Angeles. ... Whatever the case, McCown is due a base salary of $4.4 million this season and the Browns seem ready to move on.
