The Facts: GM Kevin Colbert said on Sunday that the Steelers liked how Coates, last year's third round pick, has come along in possibly replacing the suspended Martavis Bryant. "We feel good about Sammie Coates and his development," Colbert said.
Diehards Line:
Colbert continued: “Unfortunately, Martavis won't be a part of the team in 2016 but Sammie Coates will be. We have a kid in Eli Rogers who, prior to him getting hurt last year, showed some promise.” Whatever the case, Bryant's one-year suspension won't dictate what they will do in the upcoming NFL draft. Even though they won't be actively seeking a wide receiver, they wouldn't pass on one they like. Still, this seems like a prime opportunity for Coates to show what he's made of.
