The Facts: Jones, who signed a one-year contract with the Packers in September, spoke very briefly with reporters Monday morning. With six other receivers already under contract for 2016, he is unlikely to be a target the Packers wish to re-sign right away. Still, Jones reiterated that he would love to play for the Packers again if possible. "I've said it before, I would love to finish my career here," Jones said. "But I said that last time, so. ... It's a crazy business. We'll see what happens."
Diehards Line:
Jones, 31, spent training camp with the New York Giants and was released at the exact point in time that the Packers needed a receiver following the torn ACL suffered by Jordy Nelson. Jones caught 50 passes for a team-high 890 yards during the regular season. He tied with TE Richard Rodgers for the most receiving touchdowns with eight. He was targeted 100 times for just the second time in his career. Part of the roster complications at wide receiver include the impending return of Nelson, who turns 31 in May, but is on track to return at full speed this summer. What's uncertain is whether Jones will be around to join him.
