The Facts: The team announced that Whitehurst and guard Hugh Thornton were being placed on injured reserve.
Diehards Line:
Thornton had started 12 games for the Colts this year, and Whitehurst had appeared in four games. It seems unlikely that the Colts will get Matt Hasselbeck back this week, and they’re working out Josh Freeman, though no other roster moves were announced. Unless Andrew Luck is going to make an unexpected comeback from his lacerated kidney to play this week, that leaves them with Stephen Morris, who was signed off the Eagles practice squad last week. Of course, if the Bengals beat the Broncos tonight, it won’t matter, as the Colts will be eliminated from the postseason.
