The Facts: With rookie running back Jay Ajayi coming back, the Dolphins had sufficient depth at the position. So they may have opened the door for a division rival to bring back a familiar face if they want. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have cut running back Jonas Gray, re-signing offensive lineman Sam Brenner to fill his roster spot.
Diehards Line:
Of course, the Patriots have a need at running back, after losing Dion Lewis for the season to a torn ACL. Gray had his noticeable success with the Patriots, running for 201 yards and four touchdowns against the Colts. They did cut him prior to the start of this season, but he could be a quick plug-in for New England if they want someone to back up LeGarrette Blount who knows their system.
