The Facts: White told Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune that he's "not closing the door" on playing this season because "that would be like quitting." However, White admitted that "he's a long way off" and that a return in 2016 is more realistic.
Diehards Line:
The team will have to decide by the end of Week 11 whether to activate White to the 53-man roster or shut him down for the remainder of the season. White was supposed to be Brondon Marshall's immediate replacement and take some pressure off of Jeffery and Matt Forte. However, the West Virginia standout has been out since the preseason with a shin injury, and now it looks like White won't see the field in 2015. As NFL.com suggests, the organization will likely wait out White's injury and hope he comes back 100 percent healthy next year. There's no use risking him further injury in what has already become a lost season in the Windy City.
