The Facts: After Sunday's loss to the Redskins, Murray said that he knew when he signed with the team that the ball would be spread around on offense but that he still doesn't think he's getting the ball often enough. Murray's comments were not met with a negative reaction by HC Chip Kelly. "Yeah, everybody needs the ball more," Kelly said in an appearance on WIP. "I've got no issue with that [comment]. We need to play more on offense. That's the bottom line. We're getting off the field on third and most of the time when we're off the field on third down it's our fault. We're not getting stopped. We're doing it to ourselves."
Diehards Line:
Murray has 40 touches in the three games he’s played this season, including 10 in Sunday’s loss. The Eagles have run 241 plays in the first four weeks of the season compared to 296 by their opponents. That’s a big gap and one that has definitely been fueled by the inability of Murray or anyone else on the offense to consistently move the ball against their opponents. If Murray can change that in the weeks to come, he should see his number of touches go up but there hasn’t been much in the first four weeks to suggest that the Eagles offense is on the verge of breaking through.
