The Facts: The Rams have already announced that Gurley will sit out the team's Week 1 game against the Seahawks, but it may not be long before the first-round pick is in the lineup for a game. Gurley is no longer wearing the yellow beanie on the top of his helmet that lets his teammates know not to contact him during practices. Gurley said Sunday that while he "can do everything" in practice sessions, he's going to patient when it comes to getting the final green light in his return from the torn ACL he suffered while playing for Georgia last season.
Diehards Line:
“I definitely would want to be playing, but I know it’s going to be a long journey,” Gurley said, via the team’s website. “You have to be patient and when the time comes it comes. I’ll be ready for it. I’ve been waiting this long, so why not wait a couple more weeks or so?” With Gurley out of the lineup, the Rams may be without their top two backs since Tre Mason is questionable to play against Seattle thanks to the hamstring injury he suffered this summer. If Mason can’t go, Benny Cunningham would be the starting tailback and he’ll likely be in line for playing time in the weeks to come as well as the Rams ease Gurley and Mason back into the lineup.
