The Facts: The Eagles announced Friday afternoon that Ertz has had surgery to repair a minor groin injury. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the surgery was done to repair a partial groin tear rather than a sports hernia and that the expectation remains that he'll be ready for the start of the regular season.
Diehards Line:
As PFT's Josh Alper suggests, time will tell if that prognosis holds up as Ertz still has to recover from the operation, do rehab work and then get up to speed on the practice field. Brent Celek remains the starter at tight end with Trey Burton and a clutch of undrafted rookies behind him.
