The Facts: Watkins confirmed Tuesday that he'll be a full participant when the Bills open training camp with a practice on Friday morning. "I'll definitely be ready to practice," said Watkins. "I'll be full go. I'll be prepared to go out there and make plays."
Diehards Line:
Watkins underwent hip surgery early in the offseason and was held out of live action until minicamp in June. ... The Bills gave up their first-round and fourth-round picks in the 2015 draft to move up and select Watkins last year. But uneven QB play led to an equally uneven rookie campaign. Watkins’ catches and yards set rookie team records, as did his four 100-yard games. He finished sixth among rookie receivers in receptions, fourth in yards and tied for sixth in touchdowns, so calling his season disappointing might be a stretch. Still, the question now is whether the Bills will improve enough at QB to further develop Watkins’ potential? But the good news is Watkins will be on the field to do his part.
