The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Wilson reiterated during Wednesday night's pre-ESPYS red carpet show in Los Angeles that he wasn't worried about the uncertainty looming over his rookie contract which expires at the end of this upcoming season. Wilson told ESPN's Hannah Storm "it'll all work out."
Diehards Line:
"I love Seattle, it's a great city," Wilson continued. "I'm going to play my butt off every day. That's all I know, and we'll see what happens." It appears little has changed since June with respect to Wilson's contract negotiations -- or his approach to the situation. On Tuesday, HC Pete Carroll spoke briefly about the negotiations. "Well, he's crucial, as are all of our guys, and we want him back playing for us forever," Carroll said. "There's a lot of work being done. It's underway right now and maybe it happens, I don't know. We're hoping for it." In the meantime, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the two sides are not close but talks will ramp up as camp gets closer. The Seahawks report to training camp on July 30 and have their first practice on the 31st. As he has said publicly, Wilson is prepared for the possibility of playing 2015 on his base salary of $1.54 million. Rapoport went on to suggest if a deal isn't done before training camp, talks will be shelved until next year.
