The Facts: For those who believe that Murray’s success with the Cowboys last season was largely because of their excellent offensive line, that possibility will be reason to think Murray will be less productive this season. Murray doesn’t share that opinion nor the one that says that his 2014 output should be credited to running behind a strong line anymore than the work of backs like Emmitt Smith should be discounted because of their blockers. “I think Barry Sanders is the only one who didn’t have a great O-line. Emmitt Smith, Terrell Davis, all these guys had great lines,” Murray said. “It’s a little comedic to me."
Diehards Line:
Murray continued: "Every successful running back usually has a couple good offensive linemen. Those guys were great, I’ve got a lot of respect for those guys. This group here, they’ve got some Pro Bowlers and great players. ..." Meanwhile, as PFT's Josh Alper points out, Murray’s unlikely to approach the same quantity of work in Philly thanks to the presence of Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles so leading the league in rushing for a second straight year may be out of the cards. But that doesn't mean he can't be very productive.
