The Facts: The Jets' quarterback situation is still murky, but there's no doubt who their best wide receiver is. Marshall is a five-time Pro Bowler, but he thinks his best football could be ahead of him, which should be music to Jets fans' ears. "I really feel like I’m better now than I’ve ever been," Marshall said Wednesday, after the Jets' fifth OTA of the spring.
Diehards Line:
Marshall, acquired from the Bears in March, struggled with leg injuries last season and finished the year on injured reserve due to fractured ribs and a punctured lung. But he appeared to be moving well on the field Wednesday and spoke very positively afterwards. "There’s the physical part, feeling healthy, and our medical staff here is probably the best in the league," Marshall said. "I feel great, and now I’m starting to see the game differently, being older and having a lot of experience. So having all of that working for me, and going against those guys every single day, I’m excited about doing my job this year." Marshall turned 31 years old in March, but he had seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons prior to his injury-riddled 2014. As ESPN.com suggests, if he is sound physically and locked in mentally -- and he certainly appeared to be Wednesday -- the Jets have an elite playmaker to spearhead their offense. Assuming their QB can maximize Marshall's talent.
