The Facts: HC Ron Rivera says Hill is ready to contribute in 2015 according to David Newton of ESPN.com.
Diehards Line:
As the Redzone.org reminded readers, Hill was a disappointment with the New York Jets after being drafted in the second round in 2012 out of Georgia Tech as he battled chronic injuries and struggled to catch the football and pick up the playbook. After being cut, he spent last season on the Panthers' practice squad in 2014 refining his skills. The Panthers are optimistic about his progress but the depth chart is crowded behind obvious No.1 wideout Kelvin Benjamin. The team drafted Michigan standout Devin Funchess, who is expected to start opposite Benjamin. Veteran WR Jerricho Cotchery was miscast in the No.2 spot in 2014 but projects as an excellent slot man and both Ted Ginn and Philly Brown can spread the field with their speed.
