The Facts: Former 2,000-yard rusher Johnson would like the opportunity to play for the Cowboys and run behind one of the NFL’s top offensive lines. Johnson was recently stopped outside a Los Angeles restaurant by TMZ and was asked about the possibility of playing for the Cowboys next season. “I’d fit good in Dallas,” Johnson said when asked if the Cowboys were a good option. “They need it. Yeah. That’s what we’re trying to do. ... Dallas, come holler at me.”
Diehards Line:
The Cowboys declined to pick a running back in the recent NFL draft, electing to enter 2015 with the current stable of backs to replace the departed DeMarco Murray. The team appears comfortable with the likes of Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle, Lance Dunbar and Ryan Williams. While it won't necessarily stay that way, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones told reporters the team isn't currently looking at veteran free agents. But it's safe to assume guys like Steven Jackson and Ahmad Bradshaw could just as easily envision themselves running behind that offensive line as the former CJ2K could. Because why wouldn't they?
