The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... After spending most of the offseason in alcohol rehab, Manziel is ready to work. Manziel is in attendance today for the first day of the Browns’ offseason conditioning program, Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com reports.
Diehards Line:
As PFT's Michael David Smith notes, that’s where Manziel was expected to be after he exited rehab and released a statement last week saying he’s committed to righting his previous wrongs and focusing on being the best quarterback he can be. But as Smith went on to suggest, the question is whether the Browns still believe that Manziel can be the quarterback they thought he was when they spent a first-round draft pick on him last season. At the moment he’s expected to be the Browns’ second-string quarterback behind Josh McCown, and there’s talk that the Browns would like to draft a quarterback like Marcus Mariota. "For now," Smith summed up, "all Manziel can do is work hard and try to convince the Browns that they didn’t make a mistake when they drafted him last year. He’ll start with that today."
