The Facts: Smith is touring the Bills facility and meeting with coaches in a place where he’s already spent part of his career.
Diehards Line:Smith first signed with the Bills right after the NFL lockout in the summer of 2011 and spent two seasons with the club appearing in 30 games. He served primarily as a wide receiver and returner on special teams for Buffalo, but also took some snaps at quarterback. In 2013 after sustaining an injury in the preseason, the Bills placed Smith on injured reserve. He was subsequently released from I-R in November making him eligible to sign with another club. Smith finished the 2013 season with the Eagles where he played wide receiver appearing in six games. Smith was originally a fourth-round pick of the New York Jets in 2006 where he spent the first five years of his career, including two under Bills current head coach Rex Ryan (2009-2010).
