The Facts: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets signed Davis to a one-year deal.
Diehards Line:Davis is a former Chicago Bears fifth-round draft pick from Michigan State who played six games last season for the Detroit Lions. He’s also played for the Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants. Davis, 29, has 50 career receptions for 561 yards and a dozen touchdowns. He’s primarily a blocking tight end who won't impair Jace Amaro's ability to fulfill his potential -- something that seems more likely this season with Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator.
