The Facts: Following up on a previous item. ... Johnson is out of the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder suffered in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning. Johnson's publicist released a statement on Monday updating his condition in the wake of the shooting, which left the driver of the car that Johnson was in dead and another man wounded. "Chris Johnson was released from the hospital yesterday and is doing well," the statement reads. "He is expected to make a quick and full recovery and is looking forward to being back out on the field training as soon as possible."
Diehards Line:
According to the Orange County Florida Sheriff's Office, Johnson and the two other victims (one of whom was killed in the shooting) others had been at a nightclub in Orlando earlier and two women who were at the scene of the shooting as well as at the club told police that they didn't see any altercation or incident that would have explained why the Jeep was fired upon. Johnson was described in the police report as uncooperative beyond telling officers that he saw "a car roll by and they shot. ..." Johnson's option for 2015 wasn't picked up by the Jets, which leaves him set to become a free agent on Tuesday.
