The Facts: Nugent is back for a sixth season with Cincinnati. The Bengals have agreed with Nugent, their incumbent kicker, on a two-year, $4 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media and Fox Sports‘ Mike Garafolo reported Sunday.
Diehards Line:
The 32-year-old Nugent connected on 26-of-33 field goals last season, including 10-of-12 between 40 and 49 yards. Nugent also drilled touchbacks on 37-of-81 kickoffs. As PFT notes, the kicker market has been thinned before the start of free agency, with Atlanta’s Matt Bryant, Detroit’s Matt Prater and now Nugent re-signing with their clubs. Also, New England’s Stephen Gostkowski received and signed his club’s franchise tender. Tennessee’s Ryan Succop is the top option left on the market.
