The Facts: If a club wants to sign away the Raiders' leader in receiving yards, it will not have to surrender a draft pick to do so. Holmes received the lowest tender offer in restricted free agency, Mike Garafolo of FOXSports reported Saturday.
Diehards Line:According to the Sports Xchange, the low RFA tender is $1.542 million. By tendering a one-year contract to Holmes, the Raiders can match any offer from other teams. However, Oakland will not receive a selection in the 2015 draft as compensation if it declines to match. The 26-year-old Holmes hauled in 47 passes for 693 yards and four touchdowns for Oakland in 2014. It's possible he could draw some interest, given that clubs don't have to worry about giving up a pick. The downside, however, is that Oakland has the right to match and ample cap space. Still, as PFT notes, the Bengals lost Andrew Hawkins under similar circumstances a season ago. ... We'll be watching for more.
