The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... The Cowboys have franchised Bryant, a source has told FOXSports.com's Mike Garafolo.
Diehards Line:
The Cowboys made no secret of the fact this was coming if the two sides failed to agree on a long-term deal before the today's deadline to apply tags. So Bryant is now in line to make $12.823 million this year if he signs the tag. The two sides would then have until July 15 to work out a long-term contract that would give Bryant the security (and guaranteed money) he wants while providing the Cowboys more flexibility to work within the cap (which jumps to $143 million this year). ... As Garafolo put it: "We'll see where it goes from here."
