The Facts: Jones was drafted 2012 as an extra weapons in the passing game to help support Andy Dalton. However, he his entire 2014 campaigns derailed by an ankle injury. HC Marvin Lewis told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine that Jones is progressing in his recovery. "Marvin missed the entire season. He's fine, healthy, he's ready to go. He's got a lot of prove. That's an exciting time for us. He's a young player with a lot of ability and a lot to prove and a lot on the line. I like guys with a lot on the line."
Diehards Line:
Jones caught 18 balls for 201 yards in 2012 and then had a breakout season in 2013 where he hauled in 51 catches for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns. "Marvin excels in his ability to - he's got strong hands, he's a tough catch," Lewis said. "He's got great explosive speed to run and jump and really has the things to compete well in the NFL." Having him in the mix this season would be good news for all involved in the offense.
