The Facts: Forsett has been with five teams during his NFL career. But now, he'd like to settle down with the Ravens. "These guys are familiar with me and they gave me my first real shot, but there's also a business side of it where unfortunately I've been in the 'friend zone' for most of my career," he told the team's web site. "Hopefully we can get into a deeper commitment somewhere down the road and get some stability."
Diehards Line:As NFL.com's Conor Orr suggests, if NFL contracts were like baseball contracts, where age is often less of a factor and players are paid on past performances, Forsett would have a better chance of getting his wish. The reality is that he's 29 and will turn 30 in the middle of the 2015 season, often the beginning of a no-man's land for running backs in the league. Still, his patient running style and relatively low mileage should earn him a multi-year deal. Remember, the Giants inked an older Rashad Jennings to a four-year, $10 million deal with almost $3 million in guarantees last offseason. And Forsett is coming off a better year: His 1,266 yards were good enough for fifth among the NFL's rushing leaders. ... Stay tuned.
