The Facts: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bengals have placed Jones on season-ending IR.
Diehards Line:
Jones, who has participated in only five practices since the start of training camp, was heading to North Carolina on Tuesday to get his right ankle examined by a foot specialist, according to ESPN.com's Coley Harvey. Jones wants to evaluate the injury and to weigh options concerning what the team should do with him with respect to his injury-list status. A source told Harvey the belief is that Jones broke his other foot trying to overcompensate for the injury to his right ankle. NFL.com reported late Sunday night that surgery was being discussed internally as a possible course of action. With Jones now done for the year and A.J. Green out at least another week with an injured toe, the Bengals signed former Cleveland receiver Greg Little, who most recently was released by the Raiders.
