The Facts: Jennings left Sunday's win over the Falcons after his first carry of the second half and did not return because of a knee injury. Jennings said after the game that he didn’t think he’d be out long, but he also said he was having an MRI and the results of that are always more telling. In this case, they are telling Jennings that he has a sprained MCL.
Diehards Line:Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that Jennings offered no timetable for his return at this point. It’s the type of injury that usually keeps players out for a little while, though, and that will make him questionable, at best, for the Eagles and the Week Seven game against the Cowboys. The Giants have a bye after that game and it wouldn’t be surprising if Jennings didn’t return until after that point. Andre Williams turned in a good effort in Jennings’s absence, gaining 65 yards on 20 carries and scoring a touchdown as the Giants came from 10 points down to beat Atlanta 30-20. Peyton Hillis would be Williams’s backup if Jennings is out of the lineup.
