The Facts: Foster couldn’t say he’d definitely be ready to return against Buffalo Sunday, admitting the nature of hamstring injuries leaves him no choice but to take it “day by day” when the team returns to practice Wednesday. “As soon as I feel 100 percent, I’ll be out there,” said Foster, who sat out the 30-17 loss to the Giants after having back-to-back 100-plus-yard games to open the season. “It’s my hamstring’s call.”
Diehards Line:
Foster worked out before the game at MetLife Stadium and admitted his leg felt “really good” but “obviously” not good enough for him to take the chance of making what already seems to be a chronic injury worse. “I’ve played through a lot in this league – knees, shoulders, broken bones – but hamstrings are the hardest thing to gauge,” Foster said, “because you don’t know how it’s going to fatigue or react to a certain cut. After sitting out the entire preseason because of the strain, Foster carried a combined 55 times for 241 yards in victories over Washington and Oakland. Foster was replaced by rookie Alfred Blue, whose 13 rushes for 78 yards included a 46-yard scamper that set up one of the Texans’ two touchdowns.
