The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Romo will not practice Tuesday afternoon, HC Jason Garrett said. There are no injury concerns with Romo, who went through the morning walkthrough after Monday’s off day. He is expected to practice Wednesday.
Diehards Line:
Garrett said the team will practice their two-minute offense this afternoon and felt that it would be best for Romo to watch from the sidelines. The Cowboys are continuing to take a cautious approach with their star quarterback early on in camp even though he was deemed full-go at the start. “He hasn’t had any setback but the biggest thing that we talked to Tony about and really all of our players about, is honest feedback,” Garrett said. Romo, who was also held out Friday afternoon, is coming back from having a second back surgery in the past year. He underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk last December, which forced him to miss the final game. “We know he’s going to be our starting quarterback, you’re really pointing yourself towards that first game against San Francisco [Sept. 7],” Garrett said. “You want to have that in mind the whole time.” Fantasy football owners can appreciate that approach.
