The Facts: Mike Glennon hasn't given up hope of winning the Buccaneers' starting quarterback job. Why should he? He opened eyes in offseason practices and is fully expected to compete with presumed starter McCown. But to hear Bucs linebacker Jonathan Casillas tell it, McCown is "on another level" than Glennon entering training camp. "Don't take anything from Glennon; he's just only in his second year," Casillas said. "But McCown looks like he's played a couple of years in this game."
Diehards Line:
Casillas then took it a step further. "It's a strong comparison, but he reminds me of Drew (Brees), not just the way he throws the ball, but his approach to the game." the linebacker said. "The first one in, last one out. You know, he's always around. He's very (communicative), very personable. And you can tell he's a born leader." That praise is consistent with the coaching staff's glowing comments about McCown having already established himself as the leader and tone-setter with unwavering confidence on the field and in the locker room. So Glennon fans shouldn't get too excited yet.
