The Facts: Matthews has been very impressive during Eagles' offseason workouts so far, despite the fact he is still running with the second team on offense. The rookie receiver had a number of nice catches on Monday afternoon, including one over two defenders in the middle of the field.
Diehards Line:
According to Star-Ledger staffer Eliot Shorr-Parks, looking at Matthews stand on the sideline during practice, it is hard not to think of former Eagles receiver Terrell Owens. Like Owens, Matthew stands 6-foot-3. Also like Owens, Matthews is known for being a hard worker and a workout nut. The good news? The youngster doesn't talk as much. ... Although Matthews has not taken many snaps with Nick Foles and the first-team offense, the quarterback said after practice that he likes what he sees from the new rookie. "I think he is a great addition to this team," Foles said. "I think he is doing a great job and buying into what Chip [Kelly] wants us to do here. ..." Assuming he breaks into the top-three receiving rotation, Matthews could be of interest to fantasy owners as the season progresses.
