The Facts: Richardson wasn't out of work for long. The Jets claimed the running back off waivers Friday, only one day after he was released by the Rams.
Diehards Line:
As NFL.com notes, Richardson joins a crowded backfield in New York that includes free-agent pickup Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory, Mike Goodson and Bilal Powell. Johnson and Ivory are expect to split time and receive the bulk of carries. While Richardson's presence shouldn't be of concern to those interested in Johnson, Ivory or Powell, his arrival probably isn't good news for Goodson, who is trying to rebound from last year's knee injury and off-field issues. Richardson was the starter in St. Louis last season before losing the job to the emergent Zac Stacy. Richardson has just 690 yards and zero touchdowns in two career seasons.
